DAY 4: A Visit to the Vatican Skate Park
After our much needed rest we had breakfastand headed to Termini Station to get our Train tickets to Paris.
We then caught the Metro to the Vatican.
Unfortunately the Vatican Museums were closed, so we missed the Sistine Chapel :-(

The Definition of Closed, Featuring: The Vatican Museums.
At least we got our chance to check out the Basilica.
The first thing we saw was Michelangelo's Pieta, pretty good sculpture, if i do say so myself.
We walked around a bit saw the Baldacchin, the throne of St Peter, the Statue of St Peter, and we rubbed his foot.

The Pieta and a list of Popes buried in the Vatican Crypt. All the while marvelling at how massive the Dome is and everything else also.
After waiting in a real long queue we got to climb up the stairs to the very top of the Dome. We
got a superb view of Rome and even saw the place where the Cardinals and other peeps skate on the Basilca's roof.
View from the Dome. The hook is what people used to tie to when they would abseil down that side of the dome to put lamps on it.

Don't we look Pious?
We then rushed back to the Hostel and collected our stuff. We had to run it to Termini Station and just caught the train in the nick of time (like on TV).
Night 4: Romesick
We left Termini at 18:00 and shared the Cucetta with a bunch of smelly Arabs.
Took us til 08:00 to arrive in Paris.
We were dead tired and smelly... but that's another story!
