Day 3 - ... Cross the Roads like the Romans do.

A cute little Chapel we found in Rome which we like

Inthe morning we set out for the Vatican but as it so happens the Pope didnt want ny1 in his church before 5'0'clock so after having a look at St.peters square and the outside of the basilica we went for a walk along the Tiber passing by Castell sant Angelo and just as angelic a bridge.
The Bridge is Lined with statues of Angels, all by Bernini, holding items reffering to the Passion of Christ...they're very good sculptures.

Pics at Castel Sant Angelo/Bridge

We then saw a couple of bath tubs in Piazza campo dei Fiori and Piazza Farnese, We then came across the impressive Piazzza Navona with its fountains including La Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi by Bernini and the the church of St.Agnes in agony, which we went into and admired all the statues of martyrs dying.
The Fontana di Quattro Fiume, another Bernini Masterpiece, found in Piazza Navona, The four Rivers are supposedly the Danube, Nile, Ganges and Rio Plata but we're not sure which was which. (It's the place Langdon spent bout half an hour under water when the big Arab guy tried to kill him)

We then went on to find the Pantheon in the which is surprisingly well hidden. This is a huge and very anctient church with an enormous hemispherical dome. In the centre of the dome there's a massive hole which was used to let rain, pigeons or light into the church.

It wasn't easy to take a proper photo of the Pantheon's massive dome, which featured the Occulus. The Pantheon is the oldest church in Rome still in use and was converted from a Pagan Temple (when it was dedicated to all the Pagan gods...hence the name).

Around every corner we ran into another piazza with another fountain and another beautiful church. We walked to the Trevi Fountain, our favourite spot in Rome, especially at night and in the rain.

Photo taken while running in the Rain.

Debono, in the pouring Rain, standing near Trevi fountain.

Our clothesdrying over the radiator in the Hostel room.

We made our way back to the Hostel, passing by Trevi once again, got lost and completely soaked cause of the rain.
At least we got home, got dry, ate well and had a nice long sleep.
